Wow, time sure flies.. I'm back-dating this to the summer (really it's October!) when I had the wonderful opportunity to be flown down to Oklahoma City for the CG & VFX Instructor of the Year awards. I really appreciate my students nominating me for this award. It was such an honour to be recognized for my teaching.

If you're a DT user, you can imagine how funny it was to hang out with the guys behind the voices on the tutorials! That's Delano on the far left and Kyle on the far right, with Joshua, Eddie and Justin in the middle.

The 2012 CG & VFX Instructors of the Year Visit Digital-Tutors Headquarters
Earlier this year we hosted the inaugural CG and VFX Instructor of the Year Award for instructors using Digital-Tutors in their classrooms. After over 70 nominees and reading through hundreds of nomination entries, we found our top seven instructors. We then gave the instructors and students using Digital-Tutors the opportunity to vote on who they thought should win.
A few weeks later, we were down to our three finalists and our winner: David Bittorf, Platt College – San Diego. David and fellow finalists, Tara Donovan from George Brown College – Ontario and Donovan Douglas from The Art Institute – York, visited Digital-Tutors headquarters for two days of workshops with our instructors, behind-the-scenes tours and lots of activities with the Digital-Tutors team.
We want to thank everyone who nominated and voted this year, and thank David, Tara and Donovan for their time with us and their dedication to teaching CG and VFX. The entire Digital-Tutors team enjoyed the visit and getting to meet this year’s finalists.
The wonderful staff of Digital Tutors - thanks for everything!
